KEEP YOUR ASSET.
UPGRADE ITS FUTURE.

Replacing your fleet is expensive, slow, and operationally disruptive. Ready Electric offers a smarter alternative, convert what you already own.

Traditional Route
Purchase of a New Machine
  • High investment cost, Full vehicle acquisition, often €250K+ per unit
  • Long delivery times, Eighteen to twenty-four months waiting period
  • Operational disruption, Fleet gaps during transition
  • Wasted existing assets, Existing machines scrapped, creating environmental impact
Ready Electric
Conversion
  • Lower upfront investment, Significantly reduced capital requirement
  • Four day on-site conversion, Minimal downtime, completed at your terminal
  • Immediate return to operation, Back in service the same week
  • Zero emission from day one, Full electric performance immediately

A faster, lower-cost path to electrification. Extends asset life and supports the circular economy.

PROVEN.

Ready Electric is not a concept. It is a validated engineering solution. Each conversion is supported by rigorous assessment, on-site verification, and functional testing under real operating conditions.

  • Independent Technical Assessment

Third-party evaluation of system integration, HV safety, and performance benchmarks

  • On-Site Inspection & System Validation

Physical verification of all mechanical and electrical integration points before commissioning

  • Functional Testing Under Real Operating Conditions

Load testing, operational duty cycles, and performance validation in live port environments

The conversion process has been evaluated against applicable EU legislation, including Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and relevant harmonised standards. An independent technical assessment confirmed that system integration is technically consistent, high-voltage systems and safety measures are properly implemented, and the vehicle performs as expected under operational conditions.

LOWER COST.
FASTER PAYBACK.

Electrification must make financial sense, not only environmental. Ready Electric delivers measurable operational savings from day one.

60%
Up to Sixty Percent Lower Energy Costs

Electric operation eliminates diesel consumption entirely. Based on average port tractor duty cycles across documented installations.

40%
Up to Forty Percent Lower Maintenance Requirements

No engine oil, no exhaust systems, no transmission service. Electric drivetrains have significantly fewer wear components.

3–5yr
Shorter Payback Period

Shorter ROI cycle than new vehicle purchase. Conversion cost amortises faster thanks to retained asset value and operational savings.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about fleet electrification with Ready Electric.

Which terminal tractors can be converted?
Ready Electric has been validated for Terberg and similar-platform terminal tractors. Our conversion system is designed around the most common port tractor architectures in Europe. Contact our team to confirm compatibility for your specific model and year.
How long does the conversion take?
The on-site conversion process takes approximately 4 working days per unit.
  • Day 1–2: Removal of diesel powertrain and chassis preparation
  • Day 3: Installation of the electric cradle system
  • Day 4: System integration, safety checks, and functional testing
The tractor is returned to full operation at the end of Day 4.
What is the patented cradle system?
The Ready Electric cradle is a pre-assembled, modular electrification platform that integrates the battery pack, electric motor, inverter, thermal management, and all high-voltage safety systems into a single structural unit. It is engineered to fit directly into the chassis of existing terminal tractors. The cradle concept is protected under Portunus patent filings.
Is the converted machine legally compliant?
Yes. The conversion process has been evaluated against EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and relevant harmonised standards. An independent technical assessment confirmed that the high-voltage systems are properly implemented, system integration is technically sound, and the vehicle performs as expected. Full documentation is available upon request.
What is the battery range and charging time?
The system is configured to match typical port tractor duty cycles, shift-based operations with opportunity charging during breaks. Battery capacity and charging specifications are tailored to your operational requirements during the initial assessment phase. The system supports both standard AC and DC fast charging.
What happens to the warranty after conversion?
Ready Electric provides warranty coverage for all conversion-related components and the electric drivetrain system. Service agreements and support terms are agreed as part of the conversion contract. Our team remains available for remote diagnostics, planned maintenance, and on-site support post-conversion.
Can the conversion be done at our port facility?
Yes, on-site conversion is one of our core advantages. Our mobile technical team travels to your facility with all required equipment. You do not need to transport the machine to a workshop. Minimum space requirements are a standard workshop bay or an equivalent covered working area.
